چکیده

Abstract We investigate the effects of evolutionary processes in internal magnetic structure two interplanetary coronal mass ejections (ICMEs) detected situ between 2020 November 29 and December 1 by Parker Solar Probe (PSP). The sources ICMEs were observed remotely at Sun EUV subsequently tracked to their counterparts white light. The Composition of Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections

Interplanetary coronal mass ejection (ICME) associated plasma can exhibit signatures in elemental, ionic and isotopic composition. These signatures occur in less than 50% of all ICMEs, but are very indicative of ICME plasma. We review these compositional anomalies and briefly discuss a physical scenario that could be responsible for these anoma-

Interplanetary coronal mass ejections that are undetected by solar coronagraphs

[1] From February 2003 to September 2005 the Solar Mass Ejection Imager on the Coriolis spacecraft detected 207 interplanetary coronal mass ejections (ICME) in the inner heliosphere. We have examined the data from the Large Angle Spectroscopic Coronagraph (LASCO) on the SOHO spacecraft for evidence of coronal transient activity that might have been the solar progenitor of the Solar Mass Ejectio...

The True Dimensions of Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections

The majority of observations of Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections (ICMEs) are made with a single spacecraft and their properties inferred from a fit to a cylindrically symmetric model. This process produces a single dimension for a magnetic cloud, its radial thickness. If the radius of curvature of an ICME were equal to its half thickness, the shock front driven by the ICME would be at a di...

Periodicities in Solar Coronal Mass Ejections

Mid-term quasi-periodicities in solar coronal mass ejections (CMEs) during the most recent solar maximum cycle 23 are reported here for the first time using the fouryear data (February 5, 1999 to February 10, 2003) of the Large Angle Spectrometric Coronagraph (LASCO) onboard the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO). In parallel, mid-term quasi-periodicities in solar X-ray flares (class >M5...

A Model for Solar Coronal Mass Ejections

We propose a new model for the initiation of a solar coronal mass ejection (CME). The model agrees with two properties of CMEs and eruptive Ñares that have proved to be very difficult to explain with previous models : (1) very low-lying magnetic Ðeld lines, down to the photospheric neutral line, can open toward inÐnity during an eruption ; and (2) the eruption is driven solely by magnetic free ...
